Challenge
The main challenge we faced, besides preparing a new version of the job fair website “dnikariery.pl” organized by the student organization AIESEC, was to create a tool that would reduce the time spent on preparing:
- Fair maps
- Gathering business clients’ booth requirements
- Arranging exhibitors
Previous tools required a tremendous amount of time and inconvenient configuration from the staff.
Solution
We started by developing the mechanics of the main problem solution: fair map configuration and the ability to create maps directly through an easy-to-use configuration module. We chose Ruby on Rails to work quickly on the application demo with the client.
Working in short sprints, in close collaboration with the client, we developed an easy-to-use yet powerful fair management system.
We wrapped the entire solution in an visually appealing interface for the target audience.

Professionalism and functionality
The dnikariery.pl mobile applications are not only for fair participants to register for editions and generate tickets.
The main application manages the fair from the perspective of staff involved in fair management, allowing scanning QR codes from participant tickets or applications, recording entry times and the number of participants, and collecting interesting statistical data on interests, structure, and segmentation of participants for analytical and business purposes.
